Fluent in four languages, Nickie has a passion for languages and is an accomplished business woman.

In 2010, she was nominated for Telstra Business Woman of the Year in Australia.

In 2011, she was a finalist in the Bio-oil Ausmumpreneur of the Year Awards

Nickie Race-Jones is a successful businesswoman, educator and mother of two who has turned a passion for languages into a fulfilling and inspiring career.

Nickie oversees a growing business on both sides of the Tasman while raising a family and acting as a business mentor and advocate for early childhood language learning.

Background

Nickie has had a truly international career with varied highlights such as helping to run a hotel for British tourists in communist USSR for Richard Branson, interpreting for TV crews and public figures and a role as Head of Languages at a private college in Norway.

By 1998, Nickie was in New Zealand, where she set up an LCF Clubs Franchise.  In 2006, Nickie moved across the Tasman to establish the LCF Master Franchise in Australia. LCF has expanded rapidly in Australia and now has 26 franchisees in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.  Nickie divides her time between Sydney and Auckland, ensuring that she is actively involved in the growth of the business in both Australia and New Zealand.

Educational and language expertise

Nickie understands the advantages of learning a language at an early age firsthand, having grown up speaking both English and German.  This set the foundation for a lifelong interest in languages and cultures and Nickie now speaks five languages; English, Russian, French, Norwegian and German.

Nickie is a passionate advocate for early childhood language learning. She strongly believes that learning a second language enhances overall mental development and provides children with valuable life-skills. At LCF Fun Language Clubs children learn in a relaxed atmosphere through a range of playful activities that keep children interested and engaged. A growing number of schools throughout Australia and New Zealand are using LCF Fun Languages clubs to provide children with an inspiring introduction to learning a second language and discovering more about the world’s cultures.

Nickie has a BA (Hons) in Russian and French (SEESS, University of London), is a member of NAATI – (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) and NAFT (NSW Association of French Teachers).
