Franchisee Newsletter - Term 2 2017

Director’s Quarterly Update.

Thank you very much for your contribution towards going live with our new website. Term 1 2017 was a mixed quarter. Few clubs were closed in non-city areas. City areas continue to grow, in club numbers and student numbers. Nevertheless, our sales grew 72% in Q1 2017 compare to Q1 2016. Well done! Major success across Australia was due to the childcare centre numbers. We are on track to have more than 50 – 60 centres by end of 2017. We ran a survey at few childcare centres. Main issues raised by them were:

  • Kids are not engaged
  • The lessons are not fun

Our primary focus is to make our lesson fun and engaging. Learning the language is a secondary focus. That is why, we call ourselves “Fun” Languages. I am planning to visit Perth in late June 2017 to understand local market better. We have started program with 2 of the Jenny’s Kindy in term 2. Based on our performance, we will get the remaining centres.

We need to get into new markets (reinvent ourselves). I.e. childcare centres and different schools. Private, independent and catholic schools have the better result when it comes to student numbers. Example presentation you can use at a P&C meeting.

"We are here to help you grow. Contact us if you need any help. Keep up the good work"

We have introduced a franchisee/Licensee referral program

  teacher-surrounded-by-students_191x150

Background

In order for us to meet the marketing targets, we need to grow. There are over 13,000 childcare centres in Australia, and over 5,000 schools in NSW and VIC alone. We need more franchisees/Licensees. As an existing franchisee/licensee you are in a better position to advocate the business and, know what type of person will succeed in this business.

I do understand, sometimes your own teacher might be aspiring to become a business person, that might create a dilemma for you;

  1. Losing teacher
  2. Potentially they could be your competitors

Head Office can help you in theses two scenarios, by  placing the new franchisee away from where you operate. As, I indicate above, there are thousand of untapped opportunities.

Referral program:

  1. If you introduce a potential franchisees/Licensees you will get $50 credit. It does not matter if they sign-up or not. They need to show interest.
  2. If they sign-up to become a licensee you will get $250 credit. (All new franchisees need to start as a licensee first. This gives both party an opportunity to experience and to judge the suitability)
  3. If they sign-up to become a franchise you will get extra $250 credit.

We have also significantly changed our franchisee/licensee fee for individual operating in rural or disadvantaged communities.
